The result of the Telegram mailing is largely determined before the first message is sent. You can collect tens of thousands of contacts, prepare a strong text and still get a minimum of interested answers. The reason is often not in the offer, but in the database itself: if there are no people with the right need in it, increasing the volume simply scales the error.

Therefore, the quality of the database is better evaluated not by the number of usernames, but by how much it is clear who these people are, where they came from and why they are potentially interested in your offer.

Start not with quantity, but with a sign of need.

The phrase “entrepreneurs from Telegram” is too broad. In such a database at the same time will be owners of shops, agencies, employees of companies and people who are simply interested in entrepreneurship.

It is much more useful to build a segment around a specific feature: the user is in a profile community, discusses the topic you need, is interested in a certain service or is in a competitor group. Before collecting the base, it is worth answering three questions: what problem the proposal solves, who has it and where such people can be found.

Where to Find Your Target Audience

The first option is the catalogs of Telegram channels and groups, for example, TGStat, Telemetr and similar services. Through them, you can search for communities by topic and keywords, study similar channels and gradually collect a list of sources where the desired audience is located.

The second method is a regular search inside Telegram. It is especially suitable for local niches. For example, queries like “Ekaterinburg communication”, “Ekaterinburg dating”, “Ekaterinburg renovation” or “Kazan real estate” will help you find communities around a particular topic and city. By the same principle, you can search for professional groups, thematic communities and an audience of competitors.

The main thing is not to collect users from random large groups just because of the number of participants. The closer the topic of the community to your offer, the higher the probability of getting a target base.

How to Build an Audience Through AdviGo

Once suitable sources are found, you can proceed to the AdviGo audience gathering module. The user adds a list of necessary groups, sets the parameters of the collection and starts the process. The resulting audience can be transferred to the database and further used for mailings.

At the same time, AdviGo automatically deletes duplicate accounts, so the same user will not re-clog the database.

It is important to understand that the service automates the collection process itself, but the quality of the result still begins with the right sources. If you gather users from random or too broad groups, automation will not make them more targeted.

Do not mix different sources.

A participant in a thematic chat, an active commenter, and a competitor group user may belong to the same niche, but have completely different levels of interest. If you combine everyone into one database and launch a common mailing list, the final result will be difficult to analyze.

For example, out of 10,000 contacts, you got 150 responses. Without separation, it is unclear which source brought interested users, and which simply increased the volume of shipments. Therefore, it is better to divide the databases by sources or at least by hypotheses: the audience of competitors, local communities, profile groups and so on.

So after the test, you can see where quality dialogue really comes from.

Check the base before scaling

Even a well-assembled base is better not to use it entirely from the first run. Divide it into small test segments and compare the results. For example, separately test the audience of competitors, users of profile groups and local communities.

If one source consistently brings interested users, and the other almost does not produce results, it makes no sense to scale both equally. First, find the working bundle “source → audience → offer”, and only then increase the volume.

Consider not just answers.

A large number of answers does not mean a good newsletter. “Uninteresting” and a full-fledged conversation with a potential customer are technically the answers, but they have completely different value for a business.

Let’s say the first segment gave 100 responses, of which only five were meaningful dialogues. The second received 50 responses, but twenty users continued the conversation with the manager. The first option wins by the number of answers, the second one wins by the quality of the audience.

Поэтому после тестовых запусков важно переходить к аналитике и сравнивать результаты разных сегментов. Подробнее о работе с этим разделом можно прочитать в инструкции "Statistics" at AdviGo.

So gradually it becomes clear not just how many people responded, but what sources the audience makes sense to use next.

Find a working segment first.

If the newsletter shows a weak result, the first reaction is often the same: get more users and send more messages. But a base of 50,000 contacts doesn't become more effective than a base of 5,000 just because of its size.

It is much more useful to first find several suitable channels and groups, collect small segments from them, test the newsletter and determine which audience consistently brings meaningful dialogues. Only then does it make sense to increase the volume.

A good database is not just a username list. It’s an audience you can explain about: who these people are, where you found them, why you chose to write to them, and what results they give after contact.

When this logic is clear, the newsletter can be scaled. When it's not there, a big base is just a big number.
